2005 Graduates Shape Schoolies History

It all started when the idea was floated in the National Schoolies Forums... put party lights on your balcony at Schoolies and lets light up the skyline!

Initially the idea was for it to be at Gold Coast Schoolies but people from all round Australia quickly responded and the graduate class of 2005 have set the ball rolling on a tradition that will no doubt live on at Schoolies for years to come!

People are sticking posters up at school, handing out flyers, emailing their friends about it... here are the details:

For the first time in the history of Schoolies Week, a tradition for all graduate classes to follow will be set by 2005 Schoolies around the nation.

We are laying siege to the tranquil night sky with flashing party lights hung from our verandahs! You need to be prepared to join in...

Don't get left in the dark - show everyone in adjoining buildings your apartment has been taken over by Schoolies.

Let the entire tourist destination you are partying at know Schoolies are here to party! Lets set the night sky ablaze with flashing lights!

Some things you will need:

• Power board and long extension cord to reach the power point
• Lots of waterproof (outdoor) flashing lights, buy a few packets and pinch your parent's Christmas lights
• Zippy ties or string to tie the lights to whatever you are hanging them from

What you can do to help make Schoolies History:

• Email your friends about this website
• Stick a poster up at school
• Hire a Goodyear blimp and tell everyone

We need to band together and make it happen big the first year - get involved and help promote this!

Schoolies is different every year and the grad classes that create their own energy and fun have the best time.

So lets start the snowball rolling in 2005 and watch it grow in years to come... the legacy of the class of 2005!

Why is everyone going crazy for the idea?

1. It bonds all the Schoolies around Australia and at a destination together, you can see from your balcony all the other hotel rooms that are Schoolies party pads.
2. Schoolies are driving the energy and creating the buzz taking back control of the culture of Schoolies.
3. It's gonna look so mad and is just such a good idea.
4. Instead of all the negative stuff in the media about Schoolies this will be a positive about how we are celebrating.
